    Heated Rear Window

Finally managed to get the hardtop tarted up and looking just about presentable enough to stick back on the car. The owners manual says that the electrical connections for the HRW are made automatically when the hardtop is in place. Cant get mine to work even though the switch on the dash is fine.

Can anyone tell me where I shouldlook on the hardtop please?

    Thanks.

Thereis a plastic socket with a spring loaded contact at the top ofeach b-postnear to the t-bar bolt. These are often broken and mayhave fallen down inside the b-post.

There is a corresponding peg on either side of the hardtop that fits into the socket andmakes the contact to the rear screen. These may need cleaning to make a good contact.

Thanks for the info. Cant remember ever seeing such things on top of the b post, so I guess they are broken. Lugs on the hardtop are rather dirty too, which would not help anyway.

Just thought I'd add that the connectors I got from Rimmers had the wrong type of electrical connector, bullet type instead of spade. It's not a big problem to change them just another example of shoddy spares.

I needed to replace one of mine last year, and a bullet was the right connector. Seems more like BL using whatever parts come to hand originally.
