For all sorts of reasons, I can't commit for certain, but if you go down the path suggested by Dave (DJT) and Steve (sjm) then I may be able to help with a leg from swindon to severn bridge if that is of any help (Unfortunately I'm south, not north, of Bath so it's a 45 minute drive for me even to get to the M4)

By my reckoning, Windsor to Swindon is about 50 miles - Swindon to Severn bridge about 50 and severn bridge to Swansea about 60.

Yes that's the one, on ebay.400 pounds seems about right for one in good condition. I may stillneed to have it sprayed to match the car. It's red but not sure what shade. With luck it will be Pimento.

A relay would be awesome if it worked, but I really can't impose on you guys. It's such a generous offer, thanks. It just goes to show what a great bunch there is on this forum. Kudos to you for volunteering.

We used to do the same on the Range Rover Sport forum. Many people drove all ove rthe country so it was quite easy to transport items from place to place. I remember taking some wheels over to Ireland and picking up 4 wheels for myself.

I'm in Canada at the moment, not home until next Friday. I'll go up to Windsor on Monday 29th and pick it up.

Got the hardtop. Hired a Transit for the day & it did the job perfectly. Bonus is, it's Pimento red, so it doesn't need an immediate respray. Interior could do with a tidy up though.

Good news Ant - glad it all worked out well for you

Re your tidying up interior, I don't suppose you're thinking of going as far as replacing headlining, but if you do, just ask. I replaced mine a few months ago - I'd never done the job before but it turned out ok so glad to give advice from a novice if you need it

Thanks Julian. I almost certainly will replace the headlining to get the hardtop up to the same standard as the rest of the car. I'll probably wait for warmer/better weather first, but I appreciate the offer and I'll pick your brains nearer the time.

First task will be a shopping list of parts I intend to replace.:shock:
