    Just got back from AGM

    What a great time
300 mile of cross country driving
The car went well with the top down for the first hour but we did get a bit cold so relented and put the top back up
Within fifteen miles and over the hill we encountered deep snow
The trouble was those guys from Norfolk in front in a BMW that cover me in salt spray. Left the car in the hotel all weekend and went to start it today after the coldest Nov temps on recorded being where we stayed -17 C and after other members told me of their problems. I got worried as to how much antifreeze I had put in. But I did not need to worry
The old girl started although a bit longer on the starter than usual
We had left some drinks of water in the boot and they were solid so again I was nervous for the first half hour on the way home watching the temp gauge and listening the the tone of the engine. I did not need to worry the car purred all the way home and I treated her to an hand car wash and shine before I got home. Well worth the £7 to get the pressure wash under the wheel arches and all around the grill and headlamps to get the salt out.
How ever It has left its mark on the wheels the salt leaving its mark on the polish. So It looks like I'm going to have to spend a few nights with the "mothers " to try and bring them back.
Great weekend. Great driving experience using non Motorways

    Hi Roger,

glad you got back ok,mine needed a bit of teasing to get going;not quite enough in my battery to get it going, thanks to Peter Robinson for giving me a jumpstart although quite a few of us were in the same boat! Peter noticed a leak from my bottom hose which with jeffb 's help got back on the road again without any more problems.Just realized i think i was sat talking to you this morning at breakfast-sorry we didn't get round to introductions!! Great weekend though!

Hiya guys, we got home at about 4.00, no starting problems at all despite sitting out in all that for about 3 days, lovely to hear that sound, I missed it ! Very glad you got back safely, the conditions really were exceptionally bad. Apart from a short burst at the end, we were like you Roger, A roads, it took longer but made a very pretty and pleasant journey.
I hope Arthur Smith makes it back OK, he was going home to where the snow has been the worst, I know he's in a 4X4 but I still worry.
Smashing weekend, thanks for your company ! Martin.

what time did you leave Martin

I thought I did well to get home in just over 4hours with stopping for fuel, a comfort break and a hand car wash to get all that salt off

Hi Roger, we left at about 11.30, one petrol stop and one for comfort and a bight - in that order. Martin.
