    Torneau release

Hi Me again I was speaking to someone from the Cornwall group today who told me about the trick of drilling holes from the boot to the torneau compartment. This allows the torneau to be released in the event of any cable or release catch issues.

Does anyone have any info on this ie; where to drill & how big etc?

    regards

No need to drill holes, it can done if you know the technique which involves a bit of brute force to remove the rear seat to gain access. There was a thread a while back which explained how to do it - take a look through some of the earlier posts. If you remove the back seat to familiarise yourself with how it's secured you'll see how it can be done.

Found it - sound advice from Brian (brian0433)........the back seat is held at the top by two bolts. Lower down the spring slides over a kind of tonge on each of the vertical supports, holding it in placeat the bottom. You will be able to feet these verticals if you put your hand under the seat edge. I have used brute force and ignorance, in quite large measure, to pull the seat upwards and flex it sufficiently to unlatch one of the hooks. The seat then pulled forward sufficiently for me to get at the latch. I could probably have undonethe holding nuts on the seat top runner at this stage to make access easier. The hook/tongue got bent a little but I was able to straighten it out and refit the seat back.
