hi there,Iwas wondering if anyone has any experience fitting liners to the tv8,my car has been stood for 4 months and on coming to start it found it was seized.(water had seeped in the engine thru inlet manifold gasket) we have the engine stripped and all the bores are great(v.low mileage) apart from one with water in which is pitted,so thought i would just change the one liner. regards simon.

I had exactly the same problem with an engine bought for rebuild from Justriumph.
I got lucky as the engine had a fresh rebore, crank grind, new timing gear and new heads but one bore was badly pitted due to a leaky inlet manifold.
I had the one bore linered, I think it cost about £80. I asked for a good quality liner as I once had an engine that had been linered all down one bank, but the bore wear was far greater on the liners than on the original bores, and as it had standard size bores I assume the original bores would have covered a greater mileage. This suggested the liners in this block were very soft.

my engine was rebuilt with liners
the old block was scrapped due to broken main caps and stress cracks. replacement block was bored out to max so I agreed to have it rather expensively sleeved back to standard. Trevor @ faversham organsied all the work via a local engineering firm they used.
Runs nice enough
