    Rivet Help please

    Hi

I am looking to track down the rivets used to fit the engine bay bulkhead sound deadening pad. They have a washer and are listed as part no. 575956.

I can't seem to find them anywhere and don't know the following:- size or material or type of head to be able to source this.

Please can anyone help me size this rivet - and actually all rivets I will need as I progress with an entire car rebuild

    Thx

try using some self tapper screws much easier and you can reuse them

I just used regular aluminium pop rivet with thin washer underneath the rivet head.

I've just got myself a Rivnut gun and am waiting for the rivnuts to arrive. They work like a poprivet but leave a captive nut flush with the panel so you can then fit whatever bolt/washer you like.I'm going to try it on the bonnet padfixing barand also I think it would be good for fixing the S/S sills. They require a bigger hole than the pop rivets so would be good in situations where the original holes have become oversized. My gun will fit rivnuts to take4,5,6 & 8mm bolts.

        Cheers Steve

          Hi Nigel,

If you're striving for originality then it may well be worth talking to Peter at LDparts. Although he doesn't appear to list those rivets, I've found his knowledge amazing on things like this

          Cheers

          Julian

Ps Did you get my email about headlining? - I've just noticed the file size was big because of all the oics I enclosed and some systems block big files.

Thanks for your note. I did get your email thanks - I will be starting over Xmas on the hardtop, by taking loads of pics...

Pete C - I would be interested to know what you think of the quality of the Aldridge bulkhead pad. There's seems cheaper than the SOCTFL one and I'd love to know if you think it's as thick etc. as the original.

I will phone LD parts to see about supply, as I'm mostly looking for originality.

              Thx all
