I've just finished replacing my Mk II door cards following Bob Heritage's method. It was quite time consuming however I'm very pleased with the endresult. Thanks for the "how to guide" Bob.
When I removed the doorarm reststo carry out the job, I noticed there was a hole under the arm rests that corresponds with a hole in the door card and trim but had no screw or bolt in it. This is in addition to the 3 screws that hold the armrest from behind the door card and the bracket which holds the puddle lamp.
This was the same on both the passenger and drivers side. The hole is set into a recess in the bottom/underneath of the arm rest half way along just as the arm rest curves.
I have checked the Triumph parts book and also the Rimmers catalogue and can find no reference to the bolts/screws that should/may fill the hole or any securing device that is behind the panel.
My thoughts are that it may be a left over from the Mk I and redundant on the Mk II door arm rest.
Can anyone help me out please?
Thanks and regards,
Raoul
