    Power cuts don't help!

    Hi All

I have been busy trying to get the car ready for the run on New Years Day. After our evening meal yesterday I popped out into the garage to commence fitting the horseshoe trims etc to the front and rear. I had just finished glueing on the third piece when the garage and house were plunged into darkness:shock:. Sodding power cut:X At least it had the decency to happen before I started applying Tiger Seal to the fourth piece.

An hour later and power was restored and the job was succesffuly completed with all eight pieces in place.

Why are you glueing- don't the clips hold? I'm having some grief getting the re-chromed horseshoes to fit my car - hadn't thought about glue!
    Happy New Year

      Hi Nick

The clips are vicious and remove the paintwork. As suggested by others on here I have used Tiger Seal to hold it all in place. Very good adheseive and water resistant. I have not used any clips at all.

      Regards

What happens when you need to remove them? Will they come off OK?

Not sure about that:? But I am not planning on removing them again for a good number of years:P:P:P

Personally I would prefer to replace the trims with new ones rather than worry about rust eating away at the panel edges.
