Makes you wonder whether that was someone's pride and joy that disappeared, was stripped of its running gear, and hidden away until forgotten about. Specially when there seems to be no ignition switch in the barrel.
Always amazes me when cars like this come up for sale.

There would be considerable work to get it back up and running but it looks straight with not much rust. I reckon a good 1st project for someone, although as already said DVLA must surely have an owner on it's books for it so I wonder if someone who isn't the registered owner of the car has a legal right to sell it at all?
If it was stolen and then stripped, it may have been reported, if gone through the legal channel then the insurers may have paid out,...too hot to handle IMO.
The advert indicates that it was left in the garage of a recently purchased house. Can't see how you can gain ownership of the car unless it was in the sale contract....
regarding the identity, you'd just need to work with the numbers that were available - LDn.... plus body numbers , BMT and DVLA would be the places to start.
That does assume that someone would buy it to fully restore - could well make a donor or particular panels etc. depending on now it is in the flesh

I was offered a Stag if I bought a house years ago, It would have been left with the log book and a simple receipt from the vendor.
