After Pete's post, I had another look as he has a different size. The new part from Rimmers is definitely 6mm hole with a 3mm wall thickness, so 12mm in all.
It is a pretty tight fit on the reservoir pipe but it does go on. I measured the old pipe and the hole is 8mm with an outer wall size of what looks like 4mm, but it could have been 3 originally.
So I would suggest either 6mm or 8mm will do as you'll be using clips to seal each end anyway
