very well done excellent work and great photos, after all welding, and repainting works have been carried out make sure you apply wax oil to all cavaties and pannels that you have repaired and replaced.I was trained as a pannel beater and painter, 9years served, many years ago.I had work on many cars that had pannels replaced(due to accident damage)that had not been waxoiled after the pannels had been renewed the rust encroachment to the new pannels after a year when un protected was shocking.I carnt stress enough protect your car and hard work
well done keeny

Keep all the pics and comments coming they keep the enthusiasm going in those of us who are a long way from MOT!
I have been doing a similar job, (but I only paid peanuts for the car.. actually peanuts cost more if you buy a truck load)!
I have repaired both inner sills, repaired front floors, repaired A posts replaced both outer sills, repaired front inner wings both sides replaced one outer wing and repaired the other... cash constraints! This week I have replaced the front valance, headlamp supports. To top off a good week I have now finished the rear wing repairs on both sides! inners and outers.
Incredibly the pictures look like the rust on my car! almost the same shapes and amounts.... I will be having another look at the diff mounts tomorrow. They looked OK at first but I need to check the OD. as there is some wasting.
I will also start a new thread to post the photo's I have but as yet I haven't tried to post pics. I already have them uploaded to photobucket so I should be able to cope with the task.

took it out for a drive last night in the sun . roof done listening to the V8 burbling away under the bonnet . it has put the smile back on my face again.it was short lived though because one of the back brakes started binding and getting very hot so i took it home.
since i did the the diff mounts it has made a lot of difference to the way the car drives .if they are worn i would recommend you change them but be carefull to make sure you get them right.and i had to cut mine down because they are longer than you need them to be.
the previous owner used a lot of waxoyl and underseal over the years . personally i dont like it. all the underside has been stripped back to bare metal. any welding done has had seam sealing over the wlds then it has been red leaded then a coat of silver hammerite. as its not going to be used in the winter on when its raining i dont see the point of using waxoyl. if i find more rust next year which i guess i might i will get the grinder and welder out again and fix it.

got the camera out today as the stag looked good in the sun
its been a lot of hard work. i have not spent that much money maybe £200- £250. it all seems worth it driving in the sun with the roof of listening to the sound of the V8. been for a ride around cleethorpes today and got a good bit of attention

its a good feeling knowing you have done it all yourself.
