Hi All
When the car reaches 30mph a whining noise starts and gradually increases as the speed increases:X. It reduces if I take my foot off the accelerator. It does not vary going around corners.
I fitted a new front nose extension bearing to the diff during the resto so it isn't that.
I did not replace the rear wheel bearings due to the agro of taking the hubs apart. However, I would expect it to be a low rumble if it was one of the wheel bearings and for it to vary as it cornered.
The diff is mounted on poly bushes. Perhaps it is a simple case of the diff noise being amplified?
I am also wondering if the whining noise could be created by the exhaust rubbing on where it passes through the rear cross members?
Or is it case of the diff being bug**red?:?
Any suggestions?
Regards
Bruce
