Commentary is nowt special. Just a few remarks about the Aston pulling away well.
VW Bus is a not an uncommon conversion. T4 with Porsche flat 6. Mate used to have a Beetle with such an engine too. There's aT4 which is filmed a lot on the Nürburgring - I think it's driven by H-J Stück or some other celebrity.
Must be an ageing GT3 or a timid driver - normally no problem to get past an Aston. Only serious competition for today's GT3 is a 458!
A mate of mine was getting married and the Stag do (See there is a connection ) was the Glastonbury Festival. This guy had bought a VW camper from ebay unseen for - I think £2500. :?
Anyway it was a complete pup. It failed the MOT due to a rusty chassis and the mechanic had trouble finding enough metal to weld to. :?
The first big trip for the van was to the festival. Unfortunately it broke down at Clackett Services on the M25, I guess about 10 miles or so into the journey. The solution he found to this problem was to call his wife to be and get her to come out and meet him at the services with the Mondeo.
My brothers got a RS GT3,its rapid but every boy racer wants to come past so youhave to avoid taking the bait otherwise it is goodnight to your licence.
Just on the subject of fast cars, not too up on whats the fastest, best handling, best accelerating etc but some of those Japanese exotica come across as being very quick.
The 458 is the benchmark today. Not just 'cos it's an F-car - it really takes them all on and wins. Apart from the fact that there is nowhere to put the front numberplate, there is virtually no negative criticism on the street. A whole new league of handling and performance - I'm already seeing if I can re-mortgage the house!
FIA GT cars are tuned versions of Aston Martins, Lamborghinis etc. They have 600 bhp.
If you have never understood what the fascination is of watching a Formula 1 race and have only ever seen it on TV, then just picture what sppeds a 600 bhp Lamborghini 12 Cylinder Murcielago does on a Grand Prix circuit like Spa Francorchamps.
Then look at this overlapping film of how a Formula 1 car does it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex5dh...layer_embedded
