MK 1 Wiper Switch - screen washer

Quick question, anyone experienced the following oddity with a simple fix........

Going round a left-hand bend and the windscreen-washer decides to come on , i'v had a quick look and there doesn't seem to be any odd exposed wiring near the steering column etc. causing a short - i suspect the switch - anyone had this before ?

it is MK1, so no wiring for intermittent wiping

You sure you weren't trying to beep someone

When I drive my stag up the driveway between our house and the neighbours, it makes his tv turn off if he is watching it:shock:Explain that one?
