    Cr*p Quality

I bought two track rod ends from rimmers in 05, fitted them and used the car in 06 for less than 500 miles over a few different weekends. Didn't go anywhere last year, and I was under the car today and found this. Not impressed. It's obviously poor quality rubber, I don't think they were NOS when I bought them. There wasn't even much wrong with the old ones, which had lasted 30 years or so without splitting, I just thought I'd have some new ones to go with the recon rack that I now have to change out again 2 yrs later. Grrrrrrr!!!

I just replaced my steering rack this morning with a recon one from Paddocks. I hope it lasts longer than two years. I also managed to mash up one of the track rod ends (replaced about 10k ago) separating it from the suspension it was in perfectly good condition until I had to put so much effort into pressing it out that it distored the end of the threaded part so the nut wouldn't pass over.

Now that is just not right. You can see from the condition of the end that it's not been anywhere. I'd get it back to them and ask them to explain it. The least they should do is investigate the quality issue.

I've had similar problems too with poor quality parts. I have used Paddocks for some time (a lot of Stag stuff is common with my PI) and have had no quality issues at all. I'm more than happy with every purchase from them, and the staff are really helpful too.

I live in Lincoln and dont use them unless I really have to. Have had problems with new radiators snapping at the top connection, reconditioned heads, cam broke up, several other parts that just did not fit including new rain gutters that were banana shaped andB post covers that sliced my fingers to bits as they were that sharp on the edges.

Dont want togo on too much about this but itsnot just Rimmers, Ive had dodgy service and parts from other so called Stag specialists and all this does is perpetuate the Stags reputation for being unreliable when a lot of the problems are caused by inferior replacement parts, am I expectingtoo much?Rant finished !!!

I had to buy a replacement scissor jack a couple of weeks ago and bought it from one of the mainstream suppliers, it won't fit the stag jacking points. (Anyone know if it is possible to get one that fits?).
