I have been Challenged !!

The co-owner of the local Bar I frequent has just swapped his old Megane coupe for a 96/7 Honda Accord Coupe (V6 auto) and keeps raving on about how quick it is (He is an ex-Cockney who now lives here permanently).
He says it would blow my Stag off the road.
What are the performance figures for such a car (similar model appears below), bearing in mind it will have deteriated in 15 years.
Should I accept his challenge or not - I don't normally race other motorists?
My wife has a 96/7 Accord saloon here, but that has only a 2 Litre engine.

Beliving it`s a 2.7 LITRE 24 VALVE

170 BHP @ 5600 RPM

4 SPEED AUTO and about 25 mph

:shock:what are you like drag racing at your age your setting a bad example to the younger ones on here in there fiftys:P:P.but id do it if you could find a quiet stretch chances are though he will outgun you stags are poor performers in standard engine trim.so just keep winding him up and dont race then he will always wonder

This is the trouble with cheap beer, one thing leads to another. Why not take an HT lead off his car whilst he is working one evening and then challenge him?

The only reason I want to put him down is that although he comes from London, he is a Manchester United supporter! Only joking - like me he lost his Father a few months back, so we do have some things in common, and 96/7 Hondas are well made cars, I know because my wife's hardly ever goes wrong and looks like it will go on forever.

90s Hondas go on for ever i had a Rover 620 which covered 100,000 miles in 3 years no problem.
