Tuning & setting up carbs

Hi Blokes. I have changed all the usual bits & it has helped but I am looking for a garage near Plymouth which can tune the car & set up the carbs etc. She seems a little reluctant to start when cold (don't we all) She is fine once she is running .

I used to use a guy near Saltash in the late eighties but he was 78 then so I doubt if he is still around. He wasn't too good at walking but knew his way around a Krypton tuner and any type of carb.:?

On a recent trip to Plymouth I noticed a classic car garage on the small industrial estate by the A38 Ivybridge junction (Ermington side of the road). I've no idea if they're any good, but I reckon classic specialists are a better bet than most garage life.

There is 'Devon classic Cars' @ Ermington, never used them but may be worth checking their Website orpopping in.

There is also Treburley Garage, which is half way between Callington and Launceston. Roy Rowe, and his sons,have been tuning and restoring old/classic cars for most of theirlives andhave a very good reputation in the area.

Devon Classic Cars seem very professional (read 'expensive') for their bodywork, but youdo get a good job from what I saw when I visited recently. They quoted me over £3000 just to replace 3/4 of a rear wing and do the other rear wheel arch, with me supplying the panels! The photos of a blue Stag shell they did for a customer seemed 1st class.

I didn't explore their workshop next door. They do claim to have rebuilt Stag engines.
