    Tyres again..

    Help please..!

Just been trying to get a 'price' to replace the 'run-flat' Bridgestones on my BMW, and the sales guy offered a much better deal on 'Hankook' tyres instead?

I've always tried to buy a 'good quality' tyre, but have no knowledge of 'Hankook'?

...are they any good? can anybody recommend them? or otherwise?

    Hello Jer,

There is a lot of "snobbery" attached to tyres and some of the lesser names actually produce a very good product.

For instance I have been using Kuhmo's on the last two M3's I have owned and can't speak highly enough of them. They are less than 1/2 the price of MIchelin Pilot Sports, Continentals and Goodyear Eagle F1's (which are my other favourite) but fairly quiet on the road, have great wet and dry grip and seem to wear well.

I have never had Hankooks but hear that they get good very reviews.

Not used Hankooks myself yet, but will definitely consider them when my current Conti SC3's wear out - I've heard only good things about them.

I replaced a set of Pirelli P-Zeros with Hankook V12 Evos a while back and haven't noticed any difference.

              Hi Jer,

My bro in law was talking about his BMW run flat tyres the other day, and how they were £250 each.

I said can't you put something else on, and he was told the whole wheel and brake system would have to be changed and sensors by-passed or removed.

I think he has a 530d estate on an 06 plate.

You don't have to do this then?

              Al.
