Well i've done one and am very happy with the Funitureclinic's colour dye kit (Iphone camera doesn't do it justice).Cost £70 including a colour match from a sample i sent them.Thanks for the recommendation guys.

Hi Steve they are about 3" taller overal,so I'll have to be creative with the mounting brackets.

I've seen them in the flesh - well the Drivers one anyway - and it/they have come up really well. You would never know that they had once been black.
