New Ramps

Just got my new Ramps yesterday from CJ Autos
They may not be the cheapest ramps but they are well made and soon the old girl will be hovering in the air allowing me to get at the bits I couldn't reach before too easily!
Off out to play in the garage now, I have some underseal to scrape off!

Basically you wind them up or down using a socket and ratchet they will raise higher than normal ramps and are lower to get on in the first place. Also when they are up they don't come forward under the car like the normal ones which means you have more room. At least thats the theory!
Also makes it easy to get both wheel up on one side which isn't easy with normal ramps!
You can get the ones that pump up with a hydraulic system but they were a tad too expensive for me.
I'll see how I get on with them and post a picture.
They seem very well made and weigh a tonne!

same here Martin - I was going to get some but instead got a pair of normal ones for free off a bloke who was throwing them out, gave them a coat of paint and will have to make do with them for the moment. They look nice though Glyn.

I bought the hydraulic ones last year. The second time I used them the pump linkage broke and one of the pump plungers had seized. However C J Autos, to their credit, supplied replacement, modified, parts FOC and now they work OK.

Yep, this is what I got from CJ Autos last year and it's been brilliant.
Only problem is that I need an extra set of the rubber pads to clear the exhaust and despite six phone calls to them, they have still not rung me back.

CJ Autos have recently been reselling their non-hydraulic adjustable ramps via Ebay at £165, which is a huge saving from the normal price (£275) - at that price I thought I could do without the hydraulic option for occassional DIY use.

Bl**dy quick delivery too, paid for them thursday and the posty woke me up on my day off Friday!
Gonna put the old girl on them tomorrow, as she is on axle stands at the mo as I needed the wheel off.

Hydraulic ramps for me

Made removing the gearbox a piece of cake as I could get the car real high. Also at the end of the working day and in the middle of the job, let the ramps down and push car back into the garage.

Also used them to get my Range Rover up high enough to replace the self leveling strut and a-frame bushes (read proper ******* of a job)

Yep, it does a bit, however it hasn't taken off anywhere quite yet !

I hadn't seen your answer until now so can anyone tell me why I receive email alerts for some posts that I'm subscribed to, but not others - and I have got email alerts set up in my settings.
