    Battery?

    Hi

A quick question ... when I have my '71 auto Stag in neutral volt meter is at 13v (with lights on) - press brake pedal voltage drops slightly - engage drive and it drops to a low 11v.

Anyone got any ideas? Is my battery due for replacement - if so any recommendations?

    Cheers

    Alan

I would say it would be more likeley to be your alternator not providing enough power, perhaps get it checked, most garages should be able to do a quick check on your alternator and battery and will quickly tell you if you have a problem. If t is the battery go for a heavy duty type 072, there has been a thread on this recently.

I had this problem recently and it was the battery, I replaced with a 069 battery from the local motor factors for £59.

Normally if the alternator is going the ingnition light keeps coming on or flickering.

      Regards
