    fuel manifold

just took the carbs off as part of the engine bay clean, paint and blinging session and just wondering whether to remove the fuel manifold to clean the heads and top block properly which seems easy enough but some one has replaced one of the bolts with an allen cap head and it's a tad stiff to say the least, any ideas to shift it or should I leave well alone and not risk shearing the sod.I dont have to take it off but it'e easier to get at stuff if I do. any advice welcome.

    Hi Pete

If I were you I would leave well alone unless you need to remove it.(water leak etc) It's very likely you will have to helicoil some if not all the of the 12 threads. Then you have the aggravation of refitting it and trying to stop the water leaks.
The manual advises to slacken the one head off to refit the inlet manifold properly, although in practice this is not necessary.

    Cheers

cheers Steve, had another go at the bugger with a long reach key but it's solid as twang so think I will use the age old standard "if it aint broke don't fix it"

        Hey Pete,
Are you sure it's an Allen head? Somewhat similar at first glance are Torx head bolts and you can get sets of the drive bits for these that fit into socket sets rather than twisting like Allen keys.
