    Hi
Paint matching can be a pain, when car manufactures decide on a colour they send a pattern to the various paint producers and in turn they copy the colour and produce a formula to mix the paint to . To day this is all done by computers but when the Stag first came out all paint formula’s was matched by eye so each paint manufacturer had a slightly different tint or shade of the original colour and this is why we struggle to match some of the older colours to day
Reds can lighten with age but not a lot the best way to loose the miss match is to spray the wing tops the same colour as the bonnet because there is no straight line( ie the bonnet edge )the eye cannot see the miss match
    Hope this helped

      Hi
Unfortunately red is a pain to match,I would be inclined to explain the problem to the sprayer and have it re-done.
Have you got a tin of spray with identical match that he could mix to suit?
