    Younger members and children

At the SOC Worcester meeting last night the Chairman asked about things for the younger members of the club and kids to do when events etc are held.

I would like to see some more things like the Prescott event for us the tryout the performance mods us younger members (and bigger kids) tend to put onto the Stag!

Also when runs are organised for them to be shorter in longevity and more informal like the motorcycle clubruns which basically consist of meet up ride somewhere have an early lunch then go your own way home in smaller groups or on your own.

At events the wife has suggested things like pottery where kids have a go,falconry displays, painting competitions, treasure hunts etc be organised to keep the younger members occupied whilst we hunt for spares or droll over each others cars!

What do you all think would be good for keeping the familymembers of the club happy?

Stuart, my son (nearly 3) gets bored easily (like his dad) so treasure hunts would keep him occupied. Anything to do with animlas is also good. I think this might be a toughy because there may not be many stag owners with young children but i'm hoping to be proved wrong!

My kids are 4 and 5.

The day the car arrived on the transporter they wouldn't get out of it. They loved the fact that the roof comes off. The next morning they asked if i had fixed it yet so they could go for a ride. Five weeks on they have given up asking.

I sorted the wiring out of the lights, horn and indicators yesterday, got the handbrake working the ratchet on the shoes was worn and full of rust. Had some good news the rust on the front outrigger and sill wasn't as bad as suspected so will save me some time.

So the kids may get their ride sooner Rather than later.

My children are currently 14, 13, 11 and 10, but I have had a Stag since the eldest was about 8. They all love going out in the Stag and regularly come along to events such as convoy runs, where the eldest 2 enjoy navigating form the route book. I'm sure they would appreciate soem more child focussed activities at the larger events to keep them occupied.

My kids are 11 and 16. Youngest thinks it good when the weather's warm, the oldest thinks it's the ultimate embarrassment having it parked on the drive, never mind actually being seen sitting in it.
