    Poly Spring Insulators

A set of front poly spring insulators has just been delivered by postie. They include a smallpacketof grease which, so the instructions say, should be used where the bushes contact metal. I didn't do this when I fitted the rear spring insualtors as there wasn't any grease in the packso I'm wondering whether to bother with the front.

Anyone havean option either way before I get the spring compressors out?

I didn't use any when I did mine, but I can't see how it could possibly do any harm to use grease.

I think the principle is to stop the springs rusting, and becoming abrasive ,therefore rubbing through the more solid poly insulator (rubber would give and rebound more - ever tried sandpapering tyre rubber??)....

I would have thought the effect would be minimal having the grease - in fact I would have thoughtthe lubricantmight make the insulator creep and possibly come out from between the spring and pan....

      I think I wouldn't bother - but that's a personal thing
