    A couple of questions...

DSC03881.JPGDSC03880.JPGI'm rebuilding after the respray. (see photos).

DSC03879.JPGI need to know if the toneau cover seal has to be glued into the channel or does it just sit there under its own weight ?

Also I'm thinking of not using the barbed clips to fit the chrome strips (they must scratch the paint & be prone to rust) Instead I thought of using silicone or maybe "sticks-like-sh*t" which is a good flexable adhesive used in the building trade. Has anyone done this ? Does it work / stay on ?

    Any views / ideas welcome............

Hi Ace, yes the seal is glued into the channel and you can fix the front & rear chrome trim on with adhesive successfully if you wish . Both my new hood seal and front lower strip are held on with Forge Black silicon adhesive used in the Bus and Coach industry to fix body panels on.

I have found the front lower one, the only one I stuck on, is the tricky one to get to fit at the ends correctly and without the clips behind it will sit back further so achieving a nice neat fit. Large cable ties to hold it in place overnight while it cures did the trick.

      Hi Ace

Re the tonneau seal...silcone seems to have done a good job on mine.
Nice respray by the way...what top coat colour are you going to choose

Hi Ace, another alternative is a narrow strip of duct tape folded over the seam, it's waterproof, then thinned Waxoyle in the trim before you fit it with the clips. Ian's point about adhesive is a good one, the only downside is it becomes a permanent fix.
I wish my bonnet looked like yours, and of course it's in the perfect colour ! Martin.
