    Brown hood?

I used to be indecisive but I'm not so sure now....

My car is Russet Brown as you know and I cannot decide whether to go for a black hood or a brown hood (dark brown, not beige). What do you think guys? Has anyone seen a brown Stag with a brown hood? I quite like the idea...I think!!!

Drive a Stag every day... it's wonderful!

Dark brown or beige...NOT black. Jeff.

      Hi Brian
I think the right beige contrast on your car would look really classy.

I'm with Dave, a dark brown car with a tan hood looks ace, I've seen a couple and they do look the bizz. Martin.

          Hi Brian,

I think beige would suffer from showing the dirt too quickly. Personally, I think dark brown would be a classy look and keep getting tempted myself but my original canvas hood does not warrant changing just yet. Go for it, you only live once!

            Hi Brian,

I was in a similar position to you last year. Although I wanted to keep my Stag as original as possible Ie Black hood, I was very tempted to go for Green on my Brooklands green car.

Ummed and aahed for ages and then eventually decided to go for it. Well pleased with the result and a fabulous job of it and recon frame done by Chris Vmad. I'd go for a dark brown hood if I were you

            Cheers

            Julian

              Hi Brian

In my humble opinion the hood need to be a different shade to the car itself otherwise it looks too much like a saloon instead of a convertable with its hood up. Yes to a light brown or black on a dark brown car, but no to dark brown hood on a dark brown car.

I am going for a dark blue hood on a light blue car.

Feel free to ignore my ramblings

              Regards

              Bruce

I agree with Steve about the beige showing the dirt too quickly, dark brown or black if it was me Brian.

The good thing about forums is the range of different opinions....and that's all they are as there is often no right or wrong.

My two-pennies worth is that you should stick to Black. It looks right and is original. No offense to the others who have gone for colour coding but, to my eyes, it doesn't work at all on something like a Stag.

Now where did I put that catalogue where I found that Magenta coloured hood and seat covers.....

How about a lighter shade of pink?

                          Hi Brian,
i think i would go for the dark brown- i think it would look classy on your car and different than the normal black.
