Hi, I have just fitted reconditioned alloys and have been told that rather than buy new s/steel or chrome nuts that the original alloy ones can be cleaned and polished to look really good. Has anyone done this or do you have any advise?

Sorry mate - not a good start. Welcome by the way. Try a note in the "buy sell swap" section, you never know who's got what lying about. Tell us a bit about you and your car, Mk2 ? Auto ? Colour ?Martin.

I'm going to have a go with paint stripper and polish with autosol, will let forum know result unless its a disaster.
Have owned our Stag since 1984 having bought from father-in-law who bought it new in 1974. ie MK2 (M).
It's white, auto and just back from some renovation work at E.J. Wards having never had any TLC on bodywork, now looks fabulous.

Go through Bridgy, up over the hills and down the otherside towards Bishops Lydeard. It's a couple of miles from there.
Used to live in Bishops Lydeard when I was younger, and also Bridgwater when I was 20.
Cheers....Al
