    Water leak between the Vee's,

Hi gents, For the last 15 years or so there has been a slight water leak (slight but noticable) between the Vee's or my Stag (original engine) I believe it to be inlet manifold gasket but I'am not sure.

My mate the previous owner and myself just top up now and then. Tried Tradewater additive sealentsbut to no avail. Now I am going to put right once and for all. Any advice? I will uses 'Payne' gaskets should I do anything to the pump?? or should I leave well alone and just continue to top-up.

The cooling system is standard apart from a four core radiator, never overheats and does not go over 1/2 temp anytime.

    Cheers

    Terry..:?:?

Hi If is has been like it for 15years and isn't getting any worse I would leave well alone. I am sure that like most Stag owners you keep your left eye on the temp guage and whilt it is behaving itself i would interfere

It will be the rear of the inlet manifold or the pump, try finding the leak first with a dentist type mirror or dust the top of the block with talcum powder and track the source. Ive just rebuilt my pump not too difficult providing you have a manual to list the order of the parts( or we can let you have it if not) remember that if you rebuild the pump you must have the base of the impeller ground by taking the minimal amount off that you can get away with.
