Fitting coverdale carpets

Now the sun is here I have the interior out, and started fitting the new coverdale carpets.

beginning to think they may not be for a stag as there appears to be quite a bit of cutting needed on the sections to get them to fit.

The centre section has no hole cut out for the handbrake, is this normal, so do I have to cut a big hole in the carpet?

Also what is the order of fitting the carpets?

Hi Al,

That sounds like a bit of a bummer. I can't answer about Coverdale carpets (although I think VMad has had experience of them?) however I fitted new Aldridge ones last year.

Although there was a hole in them for the handbrake, I had to do a fair bit of cutting as well. If you do decide to cut the hole then it seems like mine just had the hole cut in a cross type shape and the material foded back underneath and glued in place so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

As for order, I did the centre tunnel first followed by the rear heel board one then the sill carpets. All the rest just drop into place. To aid removal, ready for future anti corrosion treatment and any other work, I didn't glue mine in at all and they all seem ok.

All done now, but took flipping ages!

Reading through some old carpet posts earlier, someone fitted Coverdale carpets in 2 hours!!
