    whats this then

    hi

Over the winter months I have been renovating the stag , new front panel, new door bottoms, new rear quarter repair panels ,and a repaint . Now I have started to fit the new interior , to day I remover the seats to get the old carpet out and I found this under the passenger seat .it is wired into the seat belt warning light and it appears to be a device that is activated when there is a passenger in the car to warn that they don’t have there seat belt on .it wont work because I removed the original seat belts when I first got the car and the ones I fitted don’t have the switch to activate the light . The question I would like answering ,is this original equipment ,it certainly looks original but I don’t remember seeing one before

Yes this is original equipment and as you say won't work unless you have the correct Binnacles with the sensor fitted.

A Previous owner has wired mine into two rocker switches on the handbrake cover that let the warning light come on when the passenger/driver sit down, then it is switched off manually - I leave them switched off!

John, I think you will find you have the extremely rare 'Death row' electric chair option fitted. When wired to the HT side of the coil itsubdues 'Back seat drivers' who happen to be sitting in the passenger seat!

Alan, of course I bow to your superior knowledge but don't I recall a Stag appearing in one of the James Bond films? What we have here is obviouslythe base of a Martin-Baker ejection seat mechanism - fortunately, it is probably wired into the brake failure warning circuit which is why SWJLD* is still sitting by him!

Watch 'Diamonds Are Forever'. Sean Connery hi-jacks a Saffron Stag at a channel port and takes it across to Amsterdam

Yeah, but why did they dub over the V8 burble? Sounds more like a Mini.

Allegedly because the Stag V8 made theDB5 sound like a right wuss and Aston Martin weren't happy . So they dubbed a Herald exhaust note over it :X.
