shock absorber recommendation

Hi folks

Although the car passed its recent MOT I think I'd like new dampers all round.

A few jobs to do so not going to go overboard on price

Has anybody bought the Front Insert & Rear Shock Absorber Pack from R Bros.

As Andrew has said, they used to be filled with oil and that performed the damping action.

I removed mine a litttle while ago and as they seemed to be in such good condition I simply cleaned everything up and replaced the oil (although I did have to search a bit for proper car shock absorber oil).

Car then went through an MOT ok and feels good and it only cost me just the price of the oil Might be worth considering? - it would save you the cost of new inserts.

I got the complete strut overhaul kit:

Probably worthwhile if you need to change the top bearings, strut gaitors etc. Though the kit did contain castellated nuts for the top of the strut which had its own nyloc nuts (and no split pin hole).
