For White Stag Admirers.............

Some of you will remember my old white Stag was badly damaged three years ago and subsequently sold to Northern Ireland. Well, I have just received some photos from a happy new owner who bought it from the restorer. Time to take the laptop to the smallest room with a box of Kleenex...........

but why put stripes back onto a mk1? I decided not to stripe up my mk1.5 and think it looks betta for it too

I'm the new current owner of Dave's old Stag. I take you point about the stripes, but they on her when I got her - she was painted 2 1/2 years ago, would it leave a mark if I took them off now? does anyone have any photos of a Stag with curved stripes that emphasise the curve of the rear arches? I've a Mk2 needing a respray and I was thinking of being adventurous.

it may just be my computer screen, but is your Stag Magenta by any chance? My other one (or at least the bits that are scattered around my garage) is also white (sorry!) but the colour code on the plate suggests it was originally Magenta. Should I return it to it's original glorious '70's colour?

Yes mine is Magenta....THE colour that best defines the 70's!

You should definitely return your other one to that colour. Mine didn't start out as Magenta, but that was how I bought her and I was looking for Magenta or French Blue as that is also a fantastic colour on a Stag.

HYD had the black stripes on it when I bought it in 1989, so they have been there much longer than not. Personally I prefer the stripes, whatever the colour of the Stag, but particularly on white. Darker colours don't look too bad without stripes; particularly Damson for some reason.
