failed mot today

just had a phone call from by brother he has taken his stag for an mot today but it failed

he said it failed on rust by the drag strut to body i think

get it welded then treat the car to an injection of supertroll i've used it for years and never had a problem with rust on an mot.

looked at my brothers stag today and it has gone rusty by the drag strut

the front chassis leg has rusted through

i took some pictures but when i try to post them they say pictures to large, will have to wait till my son comes home to show me
how to resize pictures

Dave. This is where my Stag rusted through, it was covered by underseal! I bought a chassis leg closing panel from Rimmers, cut the rusty bits out, cut the new panel to suit and weleded it in.Dragstrut2.jpgDragstrut.jpg

thats just how my brothers has gone but also the hole inside where the drag strut goes through for the nut has rusted

just looked at the closing panels there dear to buy

not sure if it makes any difference useing poly for the drag strut

Dave, yes pricey (£100?) but saved alot of hassle, I'm sure it had a tube welded to it where the drag strut goes through. I don't think having poly bushes fitted makes it any worse, it's just another rust spot. I sprayed the inside with zinc paint.

ive just ordered 3' pipe and 16swg steel im going to make my own repair plate
