Guys - having problems with my SUs.
Firstly, I cannot keep the dashpot oil to the correct level (basically I fill with 20 / 50 and 10 mins later the oil has disappeared (without even running the engine) . When I then start the engine there is lots of blue smoke (which doesn't happen if I haven't put oil in the dashpots)
. When I then start the engine there is lots of blue smoke (which doesn't happen if I haven't put oil in the dashpots)
Please could someone advise me of what I have to replace / repair in the SU s to stop this "immediate" loss of dashpot oil into th cylinder bores, many thanks
Secondly, when on a run I have noticed on the "overrun" I get numerous backfires and exhaust popping (not when accelerating, only when in backing off/overrun situations) Is there a chance that this might be related to the lack of oil in the dashpots, i.e. under acceleration the mixture is ok but when backing off / on overrun the SU pistons don't move quickly enough for the reduction in engine revs etc - any help with these two situations would be very welcome, thanks
Kind Regards
Ian
