    MOT Failed (steering rack bushes)

Chaps failed the old MOT yesterday, Rust on suspension points, Steering rack bushes, and head lamps pointing too high one side too low the other,

Does any one have any tips on how to remove the 4 steering rack bushes as I cant move them or push them out.
ps, tips to get the replacements back in place.

    Thanks Nigel.

To remove the bushes I used a length of thread bar, a small diameter socket, a large diameter socket and some nuts and washers. Put the socket against the bush, push the thread bar through, put the large socket on the other side of the bush, put washer and nuts on the tighten up. The thread bar with the smal socket should pull the bush through. I hope I've explained this ok?

Just to add to what Jason has said, small diameter threaded rod and nuts can be got at most hardware / DIY shops, take the new bush with you for the size, if you're fitting poly bushes, (dark blue) they come with a lubricant (ooh err misses) and slide in easily. Martin.
