    Storing a hard top

    Hi guys
Another question form the stagless guy, does anybody know the height of the hard top ? , so i can workout if i can store the top in the roof and drive the car underneath, I have a flat roof garage with a height from floor to ceiling of 7' 5"( or for the younger reader 2260mm).
Is there also some sort of cradle that can be hoisted up currently available?, think i,ve seen something on here ?.

    cheers M&M

You may stuggle there, I don't know the size but what ever you do don't cover your hardtop with blankets, I have and it's now covered in micro blisters

      The dimensions are roughly 1.7m x 1.4 m x 0.8 m.

If you search long enough on here you'll find all sorts of things about cradles - including my early Heath Robinson attempt !

      Cheers

        Hi M&M,

With the height you have given I should think it's possible to store the hardtop above the car. I have rigged up a boat hoist/winch and run the lifting wire through a block made fast on to the centre beam (2460mm above floor) of my garage. This gives a clearance of about 500mm above the windscreen of the car.

I also have a flat roof garage of the sort of height you have, and stowed the hardtop dangling from the rafters for a couple of years, but found I kept cracking my head on it when I was getting in and out of the Stag or furkling about in the garage when it was parked outside. It's now relegated to the shed! However if you happen to be only 4' tall you should be OK - I'm 6'2" (and obviously don't look where I'm going!).

I built a frame which spans the Garage walls,

If you think that one's bad, how about this then ? Comp DSCN0890.jpg

Although I would hasten to add that I have moved on slightly from both however having no garage to hang the hardtop from has proved to be a bit of a hurdle

                Cheers
