Pipe / tube from manifold to air intake duct

I'm trying to find a replacement for a hose/pipe/tube that goes from the manifold to just behind the air intake duct. Its lined with what I guess is aluminium and obviously meant to transfer warm air from the manifold. Looks like a fiddly bugger too.

Can anyone tell me the real name for this pipe and where I might be able get a replacement? I have tried the obvious (Rimmer, James Paddock) but can't see it on any lists/pictures.

    Thanks for any help.

Are you talking about the hot air intake tube to the air cleaner (from the LH exhaust manifold)?

If so, here it is on Rimmers site:

      GRID005205 (1).jpg

Lots of them, including Rimmers IIRC, are in corrugated aluminium whereas the original was grey cardboard type material, reinforced with aluminium. The original type is available from some suppliers - Wards ??

It's not too fiddly really, just be very careful as you stretch and bend it into shape and go very slowly, little bit by bit.

      Cheers

I have one of these waiting to be fitted - think I just got it from one of the usual suppliers - probably Rimmers. Can someone tell me - is there a fitting on the manifold to hold the lower end of this tube ? I have a funny feeling this may be one of the parts missing from my original car when I got it and I haven't yet realised it's missing ! A photo of the tube at the manifold end would be very helpful.

Thanks gents. The pipe I have currently has seen better days and I could not manage to fix it to the air cleaner (thanks Nick!). I now realise I was missing the rubber elbow pipe (155938). Having that will make the job much easier. RJA - I managed to fix the end to the manifold by cutting a couple of slots to accommodate some fin-like things so the pipe would slide down. Then a cable tie to keep it there. If there is a proper fitting I'd be interested to know as well...

              Hi Richard,

Later cars had a shroud that was bolted to the manifold onto which the pipe fitted. The manifold changed at that time to accommodate the bolts for the shroud.

This was all but the VERY early ones with the twin trumpet intakes on the air filter. Only a few hundred were built like that. The rest had the air filter boxes with the thermal motor, which needed the warm air ducted from the manifold.
