hello and help
hi guys,i am new to the forum bin a member of club for about ten years and owner for about twenty, and just starting to get to grips with pc,s so hello to everyone. got a tech question for you ,i am changing to a holly 390 vac secondaries and have removed adapter and cut and moded manifold with welded base plate to accept holly, four holes in base to accomodate butterflies when open fully but did not machine out central baffle as was advised it would help out with torque at lower revs.but nw getting conflicting opinions! i no it is a dual plane manifold but wanted to open it out fully what do you think ? cheers steve.:?

Hi
Welcome to the forum, did you do the inlet manifold mods yourself? 'cos you might end up with requests for you to do it again
I'm sure you will have seen the Monarch website, I have attached a pic of their manifold.

hi kevin, yes i do all my own work. this was not an easy task though tring to maintain the 90 degree angle of manifold with all the heat i was putting in during the welding process,i had to make a jig to bolt manifold to which reproduces the cyl head set up.the photo you sent shows the dual plane full open set up that i want to improve gas flow. my own is the same but four holes and retains middle baffle where mounting stud use to be,am reluctant to machine out yet until i can get an informed opinion on how it will affect torque at low revs, will not be a problem at high revs with full open set up .but who drives flat out all the time? cheers steve.
