    wheel studs

    just checked some studs i bought from the brothers for all my hubs full set of 16.when compared to the old they are approximately 5mm shorter than the existing ? well cant ring tonight so wondered if any others have bought or know of this .i was aware that wire wheels reqiure shorter studs but not sure i can get away with this with std alloys.any ideas are they wrong fitment /application, car or is this the norm now?

    Hi Steve, Fronts and Rears are different, I think rears are the longer ones (but may be wrong) as I had this when I replaced mine, I was told you cut them down but I found if you do this you will need to run a Die down them as the shoulder is to long and you run out of thread before the nut starts to clamp the wheel. there is also an issue with some of the new ones with the shape of the head of the stud having the wrong profile so it doesn't sit properly on the inside of the hub when fitted.

    I ended up getting hold of some good used ones in the end.

      well done ian, i should of spent more time checking just assumed they were all the same .odd that they are not, but two different lenghts front shorter than the back the bros webb sit confirms this with two different part nos if bought seperately but i ordered a kit of 16. so all is well they look good compared to originals cant see any differences.
