Hi

I have just joined SOC and am seeking to buy my first Stag.

Condition is far more important to me than the colour and whether or not it is manual or automatic. My potential car must have the original engine and a hard top.

Maximum of £10k budget.

I'm not adverse to travelling to see the right car - I live on the Shropshire/Cheshire borders.

I am a bit of a Triumph fanatic and have owned for the last 14 years a 1963 TR4 pictured below



In my younger years, I owned a 1973 TR6 for 11 years. See below



But so far, up to now, I've not owned a Stag.....

They have half a dozen cars within 100 miles of Nantwich. I had a TR3A for many years but decided to return to my first love the Stag a couple of years ago. You will not be dissapointed.

Neil, I actually never knew that you had a Stag amongst all your other cars! I have seen Robert's car every now and then - most recently on the Lakes tour when he had an unfortunate incident with a coach.

Welcome. I had a TR4 in years gone by. It was the same colour as yours, but had the Surrey top and steel wheels. I notice yours has the TR4A wooden dash.
I have my Stag now for over 6 years, and it is a good classic car to own. I had thought of buying another TR4/4A, but they are not nearly as useable on today's roads.
Good luck finding a good one, it took me quite a while.

Just looked at the picture on there web site, that's quite normal for a stag, rarely you will see one that fits perfectly and is level with the tops of the wings.
