I asked this same question some time back ( 21st January 2009 16:53),.. check out Russ's (kryten) answer .
"the guy is having a laugh - this device cannot create more sparks than were fed into it - my guess it increases HT voltage, but by an ancient method..... it will probably have a small spark gap in there and that will force the coil to increase voltage to jump the now effectively increased plug gap - but only to the limit that the coil was originally capable of, and if the rest of your ignition system is a bit pony then you'll be worse off and most likely have a misfire.

Smoke, mirrors and snake oil...... waste ye not your money... buy a sports coil instead.

You might want to note that Mr A Graham, trading as Spitfire Multispark Ignition Improver was taken to task by Trading standards for misleading advertising in 2002 - and it's still being sold......"

Any chance of a larger picture of your air filter, I assume you have it fitted to a weber and it looks quite interesting.

                    Ian.

So its a spark gap, as Russ was quoted as saying.

Thanks John that worked, I'm impressed with that, I have just invested in a pair of recon Strombergs so won't be converting mine. I never liked the the look of a pancake filter with a Weber conversion, Steve (stag Dads) air filter was a great improvement on it but your idea is excellent and could pass as original to some.

                            Cheers, Ian.
