    Fuel Pick up pipe

    Hi,

Does anyone know where I can pick up a length of 5/16 OD Stainless pipe and an olive? I need to make up a replacement for the fuel pick up pipe as the one I bought the other day is way too short. I have tried google and ebay, but All I seem to find is a coil of the stuff in the States! I am off to France for the week next Friday evening (27th) and I would like to be able to make use of the bottom 1/4 of my tank if possible!!

    Cheers

    Dave

ok, I'm an idiot! - just converted to metric and searched for 8mm! It looks like I should be able to pick it up in B&Q tomorrow!

Was thinking that too (not the idiot bit ;-) ) but they do the imperial sizes too.

I'm sure B&Q will have it though.

Having bought one that is too short, I would rather make up my own so I can be sure it is long enough!

I would flatten the end and make it as wide as you can so you can always get the last drop out if running low

Interestingly enough, the end was blanked off on the original that I broke. The hole was about 1/2" up on the side.

I suppose it was like that to stop any sediment going up the pipe

Yes, that would be my guess. The inside of the tank was very good though, just a shame that it was rusty as hell on the outside, causing the leak.
