Fuel tank sender unit

I may need to replace the sender unit ring and seal.
How easy is to remove the existing parts? Is a special tool required?

It's really easy, just knock the lugs on the float cover securing ring round with a drift until the ring is free to be lifted off, then lift out the whole float assembly.
