I think Ian is on about the small grey or green rectangle that is underneath the words 'SOC Member'.
If you hover your mouse over yours or mine it just shows our user name, but Ian's displays "Milothedog is an unknown quantity at this point' I've also found one or two other different ones
I think it may be something to do with 'reputation' - the little star at the bottom left of each post.
If you look at Roger P, it says "RogerP has disabled reputation" - mind you, there are others who are 'on a distinguished road'
However, I just tried giving Ian some 'reputation' - cos I reckon he deserves it - but it hasn't changed the wording at all
Ah well, another of the mysteries of the new forum - I still have to go through a laborious process (including using two different browsers as the forum doesn't seem to like Google Chrome) to post pictures despite RogerP spending ages trying to help me out - Thanks Roger
Cheers
Julian
Just tried the reputation thing again for Ian and got this message: "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to milothedog again" !!
Pps - Dave, you've just become 'an unknown quantity' !!!!
So to go with the one I already have, I have a reputation on the forum now
Re pictures, I use chrome at home ! it is a bit fussy sometimes about what I try to post but still does it, normally as thumbnails, I have never been able to work out how to put a picture full size in the actual post or multiple ones under each other like some folk can.
Ian.
Julian, I just added a comment to yours and now it dosen't even show your name!!!!!

"I have never been able to work out how to put a picture full size in the actual post" - this is exactly the problem I have with Google Chrome which is my normal browser and which I don't want to change. What I have to do is to post a small pic in Chrome then open Internet Explorer and edit the post. In IE, I get the little pencil comes up over the picture which allows you to enlarge it. Laborious, but it works.
And re your "I just added a comment to yours and now it dosen't even show your name!!!!!", that's exactly what happened when I gave Dave some 'reputation' but when I went back later it had changed to 'unknown quantity'
I see that's what's happened to me now as well so, we're all unknown quantities together now
If I click on the Star it says "This post has not received any reputation. You currently have 10 reputation point(s)". Not sure if you gain points for a good reputation or loose them for a bad one!!

So, you've got 10 points - that's why you're 'on a distinguished road'. I've got 0 points

If you click on the star in your own posts you will see what "reputation" points you have. (I have none!) If you click on the star in someone else's post you can "approve" and add comments about the posting (rather than reply to the posting) a bit like "like-ing" in facebook I guess, to the "reputation" thereby giving reputation points!
SO>>>>>>>>>>> now we all go round to every post, click on "approve" give everyone ten or more points then we are all on a distinguished road!
