hi all just traced a oil leak to one of the half moon rubbers at back of engine pass side is it a straight forword job thanks stewart

hi all just traced a oil leak to one of the half moon rubbers at back of engine pass side is it a straight forword job thanks stewart

probably one of the less challenging jobs ,i always use a sealer to refit the rubbers and cam gaskets. belt and braces aproach.you might want to replace the rubber seals on the screww caps that secure the cam covers also.dont try to reuse the old gaskets not worth all the hassle.and dont overtighten the screws.

Wot 'e said. Plus, check that the sides of the cam covers are parallel. All too often they have been pulled out of shape by over-enthusiastic tightening of the cover screws. This leads to poor sealing and leaks.

There were some seals being offered complete with a cosmetic graining finish! (=leak-paths)
