    A good day at Duxford

    Hi guys, what a great day at Duxford viewing the aircraft. Can't say I was impressed with the SOC stand. Anytime I passed everybody was drinking coffee and eating biscuits. I did not see anyone promoting the club or selling merchandise like the other stands.
    To be honest I was also dissapointed with the lack of autojumble and trade stands, however the museum made up for this. I would have gone just for the aircraft.
    Another moan, why do the entrance ticket and the programme end in 95p. The logistics of supplying change to everybody must overcome the advantages of having a price below a set pound.
    800+ miles at 26 MPG.

        Good on you Peter, Cupar to Duxford and return, with no issues, you're an ad for the Stag if there ever was one ! Did you do it in one day or stay over ?
        The SOC people you saw were the Cambs lot, if you'd walked up and said hello they'd have had you sitting down, chatting and drinking coffee in a heartbeat. Sorry you were disappointed mate, the absence of autojumble is common at Duxford unfortunately, I miss it as do many others.
        The main SOC bods are in Germany for the European Stag Meet so it was a little un-coordinated. It certainly would have been good to have a central point to meet up, perhaps next year.
        In your first pic, mine's the last car on the left, magnificent white. The museum is one of the best in the world, glad it impressed you, really sorry the rest didn't. Don't give up. Martin.

          Hi Martin, to answer your question. We left Scotlant at 7.00am Friday to avoid the rush but still caught a mobile traffic jam on the Edinburgh city bypass. All went well until the brake warning light came on North of Newcastle. Brake fluid checked and PDWA switch disconnected. This is a problem that I have been living with for the last year. Other than that the trip was uneventful. I was pushing it a bit and arrived at the campsite near Duxford at about 3.30pm.
          The return journey was on the Monday, an early start 6.00am to try and avoid traffic, much of the journey it rained but unusually as we crossed the border the sun came out. Got home about 2.30pm.

            I repeat, good on you !
            I've done Northampton to RAF Leuchars in one, about five and a half hours, the Stag didn't mind at all but it is a long way. Too many are timid with these cars, but fast touring is their forte. It sounds like your PDWA valve just wants centering. Cheers, Martin.
