hello to all - help required please

Hi guys & gals, my 1975 rebuild is continuing but i have an electrical problem thats driving me mad ! I am debugging the electrics and everything appears ok, the odd rogue multiway connector, duff joint etc but... i cannot get the indicators to work ! hazzard lights work ok side lights, dip & main beam even the washers and wipers work (if a little slowly) must grease the rack !

i dont have a wiring diagram for a mk 2 with hazzard lights shown so debuging this part is causing me trouble - anyone have any idea's ?

    thanks

    Paul

pull the hazard switch out and in mine had a bad contact in there and that caused the indicators to stop . Is there a flasher relay fitted ? Im sure there is a seperste relay for the hazard lights.

    First post welcome.

        Hi Paul

I had this problem, my flasher unit was missing, It's clipped in,up behind the dash, below the rev counter. With any luck you will find a plug hanging without the unit like I did..

        Good Luck

Thanks for the replies - and the simple diagram Ian. The flasher unit is there behind the dash, i have cleaned the hazzard switch with deoxit contact cleaner all with no luck. the information i have tells me that there should be a 12v feed to the flasher unit which then is fed to the indicator switch and then to either left or right lamps so when i put my test lamp on one side of the flasher unit i should see a steady test light and on the other side a flashing test lamp - i only have a slow flashing test lamp nothing on the other side this is bamboozling me - so i intend getting a replacement flasher unit then if that isn't the problem take a direct feed from the fuse box to one side of the flasher unit as i think i may have a broken wire somewhere. The only other thing i can think of is that the hazzard switch itself is a duffer although if it was would the hazzards work ?

The main trouble with this car is that is has been sitting in a bodyshop semi restored for years and up until i bought it was caked in bodyshop dust, i've spent most of the last 6 months just cleaning things up !
