Hi. I still havn't had my windscreen repaired yet,Insurance company wants me to use their nominated repairer(guess who) Been advised by all on here not to let these people any where near my Stag.The alterative offered by the insurance company,is to have it repaired by some one of my choice and they will refund my windscreen exess of £80.
Cost of a new screen from Rimmers is £145 + £30 delivery.Has any body had a screen replaced and know the cost,and recommend some one roughly local to me (Farnborough Hants)

Sorry can't suggest anyone near you as I don't live your way anymore. So if you want to use your own repairer the insurance company will cover £80 only? Which company is this?

I brought my windscreen off a local windscreen supplier and managed to find a fitter from autoglass that knew how to fit it have had no problems make sure that the rubber is fitted to screen then bright work is fitted then screen fitted to car took the guy 40 mins start to finish.

Hey, do I sense that people expect an insurance company to actually pay out?

I paid for my daily to have a new screen fitted locally / convieniently.

Contacted my insurers...no chance of any claim.

Ended up doing the stag one myself....must say 40mins is slick though.

I used old scnool windscreens in Ottershaw nr Chertsey a few other members on here have used them aswell, the only problem i had with insurance was i had to pay £100 excess instead of £50 because they are not there approved repairer.
