    Power Steering.

I posted a while back about when turning corners, the power steering seems to be a bit jerky and not smooth. I was told to WD40 the joints but this has not helped. The fluid level is ok. It's as though the steering wheel is fighting against me, nothing aggressive but very noticeable.

Any suggestions greatly received as always.

    Jeff.

I had this on mine once Jeff and simply tightening the belt cured it. I'm sure it's not going to be that in your case but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Just a thought - even though lubricating the steering shaft u/j hasn't helped, can you jack the car up and then turn the steering while feeling the joint to make sure it feels free?

    Cheers

Thanks Julian, I'll give that a go. Perhaps the strain on turning (not me) is showing up if the belt is a bit loose. Would it not squeal though?

Yeah, you'd expect it to squeal, but mine didn't

In fact I live down a track off a fast downhill road. Sometimes when I went to pull in my PAS used to fail completely with no squeal. Tightened the belt and problem solved

          Hi Julian,

Just remembered, I tightened the belt a few weeks ago when I fitted a new battery, so probably not that.

After you've fixed yours Jeff, would you come and fix mine please

I took the old girl out last night and my power assistance disappeared completely Fluid's ok, so I'm going to have to start investigating. Maybe it heard me talking about PAS and got upset

            Cheers

For my own PAS issues, I've found this wealth of info which might help http://www.triumphstag.net/start/tec...g/steering.htm
